Kate Harper, PhD, RP, CCS
Registered Psychotherapist & NeuroPsychoanalyst
Founder & Clinical Lead, Insight-Online
I am a registered psychotherapist with the CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario) and specialize in contemporary relational psychoanalysis, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and brain-based (neuropsychotherapy) holistic approaches to support your mind, body, and spirit as you journey through life/work transitions, grief, loss, anxiety, trauma (vicarious and moral injury), or depression. Introspection, self-reflection, and exploring painful experiences, thoughts or feelings are not easy, but you don't have to do it alone. Working together, we can explore the roots of your stress, burnout, interpersonal struggles, anxiety, or feelings of inadequacy. You can discuss your fears, stressors, and hopes from the comfort of your home as I holistically guide you toward more psychological balance and well-being. You can live a more authentic, meaningful, and peaceful inner life.
I work with professionals, therapists, executives, caregivers, front-line healthcare workers, and first responders who have successful careers on paper but still feel unfulfilled in their personal and professional lives and relationships. You may feel stressed, exhausted, or just going through the motions of your life. Moreover, you may have driven you to re-evaluate your priorities. Anxiety, depression, or feelings of overwhelm may be at play, and you may feel like you want a safe space to assess how you got to where you are today. I will work with you to explore your current relationships and family-of-origin issues and support you in working through grief, loss, anxiety, trauma (including vicarious trauma and moral injury), and depression. I encourage introspection, self-reflection, and the exploration of life-long and new patterns to make the present and the future more healthy, meaningful, and positive.

Although my education and training are grounded in many psychology schools, for example, cognitive/dialectical behavioural, mindfulness, trauma-informed, emotion-focused, and humanistic, to name only a few, I specialize in Psychodynamic and Analytic Psychotherapy. This form of therapy explores the foundations of our emotional suffering. Self-reflection, self-exploration, and the relationship between therapist and client are pivotal in the change process. This therapy aims to allow you to live a more meaningful and fulfilling life. I also utilize Neuropsychotherapy, and I am a clinical fellow in Neuropsychoanalysis. Neuropsychoanalysis and Neuropsychotherapy are specialized forms of talk therapy where clients' thoughts and emotions are explored holistically with the body. For example, grief, depression, and anxiety may alter our emotional states, but they also impact our physiological states. Thus, I work with clients from a mind-body perspective so they can move toward more psychological balance and well-being and bring long-term relief and meaning to their psychological suffering.

Clinical Supervision
I am a Canadian Certified-Counselor Supervisor through the CCPA (Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association). My primary supervision framework is analytic, psychodynamic, and neuro-based, where attachment and neurodynamic work can be integrated. Additionally, I offer an integrated approach for therapists wanting to work deeper with clients, thus allowing them to integrate all other modalities with the psychodynamic approach.
